Hey all,

What do we think of this spec? Anything I am missing that would improve this?

This is my first system, and its mainly for gaming (With some streaming on the side) and also to edit high res photographs for my photography business.

I have been a console gamer for last 12 years so would love some advice on some good mice and keyboard combos to help me get into it also, I am currently looking at these as are relatively budget friendly and well rated.

  • G502 SE HERO Optical Gaming Mouse

Whats it for and what monitor are you using?
If you already have a monitor, is it from an existing system?

If you are getting the corsair cooler, it comes with high quality paste anyway, so you can save on the arctic extreme.
So i've saved you £9 at least :p

Ive seen some good reviews for the Logitech G502, im assuming the Hero is the next model up? If thats the one you like, then I see no reason why not.

Ive been on laptops for the past 7 or 8 years and i'm switching back to a desktop myself.
With the laptop i have a Razer Mamba mouse, and I have to say i've loved it since day one, but it is 3 years old now.
If you're still undecided I believe the Razer Viper is its replacement, so may be worth looking at reviews for that.

Corsair Ironclaw also gets great reviews, but its a fair size. Theyve also released the Dark Core one again (as Pro) changing the thumb buttons which is an improvement, but the Ironclaw still reviews a little better.

Steelseries get really good reviews on the Rival 710 but also do the Sensei ten, which is a pretty good price and nice introduction mouse if you arent used to having lots of buttons on a computer mouse.

That's a really nice build and will serve you well for gaming. You might consider getting some extra storage as you're not going to have much headroom with 1tb. Perhaps get a second HDD at 7200rpm with 2tb storage?

You'll have a much better experience if you don't have to constantly worry about space. There are lots of games out there around the 100gb mark (COD Modern Warfare 2 is 150 gigs!!) so you can see how this would easily add up, along with any other software and files you have. If you're the kind of person who likes to have multiple games installed and ready to play, I definitely recommend getting some more storage.

I have been a console gamer for last 12 years so would love some advice on some good mice and keyboard combos to help me get into it also, I am currently looking at these as are relatively budget friendly and well rated.

Logitech make amazing peripherals so you won't go wrong buying from them. I have the mouse that you listed and it's excellent.
