Spec for new desktop - needs to be up to video and audio editing

Hello there, can the forum gurus run their eye over the spec I've put together for my g/f's new machine please? She's a freelance who needs it for general office use and such, but also has to be able to edit spoken word/music audio and video for podcasts, training, PR releases etc

My main concern is whether the mobo is optimal given the SSD I've chosen for the $sysdrive; secondary question is whether the GPU is correctly specified for slinging around hi-res video files (I might sneak a few games onto this rig when she's not looking, but hardcore gaming performance isn't necessary); tertiary question is whether I need to uprate PSU and cooling to handle the hardware specified.

TIA
Luke

Welcome to our forums :)

Great spec you've put together there and the PSU can handle your specification no problem.

The GTS450 is a new card and will be great for gaming and/or video editing.

Your SSD and motherboard combination will also work trouble free. :)

One further thing. How does the 'quiet' PSU compare noise-wise to, say the run-of-the-mill boxes of a few years ago (back before quiet computing emerged from it's audiophile niche)?

The PSU will be one if (if not) the quietest fan based components inside your PC, because it does need to disperse as much heat as your CPU or GPU and is 80+ efficient in converting the electrical current.
