what SSD do PC Specialist builders install the OS on?

They’ll normally default to installing it on the fastest available drive. Should you wish, you can request them to do it a different way once the order is placed.

i want to try ordering the 3080,but i don't know about the 3080 model that isn't an asus one i don't know if it could be a really bad oem sku,with a terible cooler,is it the msi ventus 3x one? that seems to be pretty common

Generally it's Zotac or Pallit branded (Zotac being the most common that I've seen on the forums). There have been a few Gigabytes and EVGA's thrown in there but it's generally whatever PCS can get stock of

GPU market is mental at the minute

Normally the NVidia cards that are provided by PCS that are not the ASUS ones are Palit, Zotac or Gigabyte, the brand and exact variant of the model entirely depends what they have at the time of your build.
Theyre all much of a muchness really, personally from PCS my current is Gigabyte (3070), the one before was Zotac (1070 - recently retired after 5 years) and the one before was palit (770), they have all been perfectly fine

so are the zotac cards oem ones? or from the shelf like the trinity OC,twin edge oc etc?

I believe it's generally the Trinity or the Twin Edge

Trinity being the more common but then again this is just based on what I see on the forums here

ok,the 3080 doesn't have a twin edge model and,all the models i could possibly get from zotac/palit run cool,so i should be good to get 1

i want a specific ram kit that's faster/samsung b die to oc it,but i don't want the ludicrous gpu prices of building my own pc so could i call them up or will i have to install it myself when it arrives?

You'd have to order the base 4gb 2400mhz and then swap it yourself.

It's definitely a good option though, and what I would personally choose to do.

That's what I did as well. It's a great option. The only downside is that the RAM wouldn't be covered by PCS warranty but higher end RAM kits usually come with manufacturer warranty anyway.

Not sure on the 3000Mhz but the 3200Mhz is CL16 and the 3600Mhz is CL18
