Some big issues.

Hey guys.

I've had my PC Specialist Custom PC for 5 months now and all has been well. But just today, it won't power on at all. I press the power button but nothing at all happens. The PVP67 Pro motherboard has its green light on.

I've changed the fuse in the plug but that didn't help.
Also, for a while before today, every now and again when I booted it up, it would go to an American Megatrends screen and say CPU FAN ERROR, but then I would continue to boot normally and nothing would be affected.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks.

I haven't opened it up or anything, but from the back everything is plugged in correctly... And the PSU is switched on.

It might be a idea to check inside the tower and see whats going on, it could be a problem with the fan or any loose wires inside.

Just opened it up and had a look around and I don't see anything unusual. But I'm not really in the know about stuff like that.

Is the tower itself very hot when its on and running? Its very easy to allow a P.C to overheat. Otherwise it might be best to call the customer services, they are pretty good.

I read somewhere that it's very likely my PSU that has a problem. What can I do about this?

Your best phoning and seeing what PCS say tomorrow they might give you a few things to try or you might end up having to RMA it back to them if so i hope you went for the silver warranty and kept your original packaging if not you will be best asking them to send replacement packaging which will cost you about £15 i think.

I did go for the silver warrantee but I don't have the original packaging as it was an enormous box haha.

Gah this sucks. My PSU is a Corsair TX850 btw.

Might be worth checking inside the case for signs of dust & if needed give it a clean.
preferably with compressed air.

Nah I;ve cleaned some dust out lately its not too bad in there right now.

Why would my PSU die after 5 months? A TX850?

Just for future reference, if you remove the tape from the box it can be folded flat and then stored somewhere convenient such as the loft/under bed, behind wardrobe etc. It would be best to keep the packing as well though.

Alternatively, cover the box with a cloth and it makes a handy bedside table :)
