Skylake i7 6700k out of stock

It's been on pre-order status for a long time. Overclockers have this CPU in stock all the time. I'm thinking of buying from them... but they only have max 8GB RAM 3200MHz to offer.

I e-mailed PCS as I was concerned that it is still on pre-order status on standard systems (I am waiting for an order of an over clocked system.) They told me not to worry, they are getting stock in regularly throughout November.

Their supplier has had a delay I believe. Yes, other companies have it, but overclockers don't build computers, they sell parts, so it's completely different

Actually Overclockers UK do build and sell systems. I cant give a link as its against the forum rules to give competitor site links, but if you go to OCUK site and on the top menu highlight "pc systems" then select "configurator" you can build systems there.

Getting back to the Skylake processors availability, it is a known fact that there has been a widespread shortage of supplies especially to the K sets of both I5 and I7. Scan is also out of stock of the K version I7 and has been for some time and on discussion boards many have said that the price for the K sets are at an over inflated price point due to the shortage of stock.

If you really need to overclock and cant wait then you could buy the I7K from OCUK and send it to PCS to be placed in your system. Best call PCS first if you wish to take that route.

I don't think that this is possible - at least when I asked PCS about doing this they said it wasn't. Cases are the only things that can be sent separately.
