Currently I have a 1TB caviar black as my only HD but I was curious what people thought would be a good selection for a secondary HD for (fairly regularly accessed) storage of various multimedia files? Since work has slacked off a lot after the holidays, the budget is somewhere in the £60-90 range so my options seem to be something like:
£63 <unspecified> 2TB
£65 WD Caviar Black 1TB (I'm leaning away from this a little, I know it's decent enough but for a storage drive 1TB is way too easy to refill again)
£69 WD Caviar Green 2TB
£82 <unspecified> 3TB
£89 Seagate 2TB Hybrid (I know absolutely nothing about hybrid drives other than it's a combo of HDD and SSD)
£90 WD Caviar Green 3TB
From my understanding, all the WD caviar drives are pretty solid just the green is the runt of the litter but since the OS and programs/games will be on the black I didn't know if it'd matter much. I'm leaning towards the 2TB or 3TB greens but I welcome any input, thanks
