Does this monitor (Samsung SyncMaster S24A450B 24" - 1920 x 1080, 5MS, DVI-D (£179) include a cable to attach it to the desktop tower?

Far as I can find,the S24A450B monitor comes supplied with a VGA cable.
The 24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM is not a BLU-RAY Drive,if you use the "dropdown" menu on the configurator,it will show you the options for blu-ray drives.

What game can I buy to test my PC above for faults? Planetary Annihilation is due out in the summer 2013.

I prefer strategy games, any suggestions?

On your spec:

If you are not overclocking then you might as well get 1600MHz RAM, as that is the speed of the processor's memory controller.

Also, if you are not overclocking, I'd go for the triple-copper-heatpipe CPU cooler. You won't need a liquid cooler and the H40 has a reputation for beong noisy (I think the fan runs at a constant 2000 rpm).

If you are overclocking you should get the 'K' version of the CPU. But I don't see a need to overclock.

You could consider upgrading the graphics card to a GTX-670 btw.

One other thing you might want to consider is making the system SLI-ready. What I mean by that is getting a system which would allow you to add a second GTX-670 in the future if you wanted to improve graphics performance for future games. What that would mean is:

• Upgrade the motherboard to one that supports SLI, such as the P8Z77-V LK
• Upgrade the PSU to 750W (so that it would have enough power to support a second graphics card if you should want to add one).

The total extra cost is probably ~£50 (not including the price of the future second graphics card, of course).

Advantage of this is that it gives an obvious upgrade path if you decide you need more graphics oomph sometime in 2014, say.

Disadvantage is that it's spending money just so you have the option to add another component in the future. If, in reality, you never do go for SLI then it's money wasted.

Worth thinking about when you are spending that amount on a system though.
