I do like these sort of games and I played Total War Empire to the end, but Rome II just seemed more of the same with a different skin, which is maybe what you want. But it didn't grab me and I gave up playing it.

i played it, and IMO it was lacking, too repetitive, missing a lot of cool things from the shogun 2, the real improvement is the naval battles, besides that is just rome total war with a polish

if you like the older tw's (such as rome II and med II) you will hate rome II. It's a bit of a downgrade if you ask me. Very streamlined and arcadey now. Plus you can only build like 4 buildings in Rome.... No idea what that is about. Oh and the games buggy and incomplete.

i'd avoid it mate.

I enjoyed the actual battles but found the "chess" side of the game incredibly tiresome, boring and slow... I'd avoid.
