Replacing 5 Yr old PC. Advice needed please

Hi everyone, having been a big MMO player in recent years, with the release of diablo 3 im coming out of retirment. Its been over 5 years since i have tried to spec a pc.
So i was just wondering if anybody was able to help me out with a spec that could run diablo 3 amongst the other older games

Minimum requirment is
Windows® XP/Vista/7 (latest service packs) with DX 9.0c Intel Pentium® D 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 4400+
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800 GT or ATI Radeon™ X1950 Pro or better
1 GB RAM (XP), 1.5 GB (Vista/7)

Recoomended is
Windows® Vista/7 (latest service packs) Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 5600+ 2.8 GHz
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® 260 or ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 or better

As i mentioned earlier its been a while since ive updated my PC and have lost touch with all of the best chips/ Cards and which is best IE Intel Vs AMD, Nvidia Vs Radeon

yeah my worry was about the furture proofing, im still trying to grasp whats still good these days. steep learning curve! hence the cry for help

I agree, would at least get a seagate barracuda. I would also try and upgrade that gpu. You could probably save money by dropping the case, maybe even the cpu. for future proofing, i would also try and upgrade to 8GB RAM.

im tempted to just raid the savings and spend a good grand ona badboy, but im not sure how long i will be playing, hence the hesitation of spending too much.
