Regular vs hyperX impact ram?

I'm getting 16gb of ram in a laptop I'm configuring but I can't decide whether to pay extra for hyperX impact, does it make a noticeable difference in performance and does it last longer? All info will be helpful- thanks.

Depends on how much extra it is and exactly what you intend on doing with the laptop. For most uses I would say no - you won't notice the difference between 'normal' and 'faster' ram.

If its not much more, maybe get it and if you ever do anything that warrants the extra speed its there. If its a fair amount more then I wouldn't bother.

Gaming/editing, work and music, it's also about £35 extra

Unless you want to overclock the memory, the manufacturer is completely unimportant - just get the cheapest RAM.

Hmm... Be careful here. This may not be relevant to PCS builds, but RAM can cause problems in other laptops. "just get the cheapest" is very bad advice, I'd suggest staying far away from stuff like Kingston's Value RAM, or similar from other manufacturers. For example, Lenovo Thinkpads don't like the cheap stuff at all, to the point of simply refusing to boot.
