Overall, I am happy with it, however, the pc seems to run really hot without even doing anything. I've used HWMonitor, and with no load on it runs at around 60C (see picture, the high temperatures are also on no load, haven't launched any games or anything), whereas while gaming it can easily ramp up to 90-95C even on games that aren't very demanding. I have cleaned the inside of the laptop, reapplied thermal paste, and even fiddled a tiny bit with undervolting the laptop (-0.133 still runs stably, for example) but it does not seem like any of these have had a noticeable impact on the temperatures, as the screenshot I attached is AFTER I did all of these.

I've read up on other threads regarding this issue, and it seems like other people tend to have the same problem as me. Given this, are these temperatures overall normal for the recoil and I am being paranoid, or should I be contacting PCS to take a look at it because it could be faulty parts? Also, I read on other threads that a fresh install of windows might help, is this something I should be looking into doing or is it not worth it? The current version of windows is something I installed myself after receiving the computer with no OS.

Thank you for your help.

I remember on my 8750h laptop (Proteus) 90 plus while gaming was quite normal. 60 plus idle temperatures do seem a bit high in my opinion but that’s speculative because I haven’t got the laptop. Hopefully someone with the same chassis could chip in

I have acquired the Recoil IV as well and can confirm my temperatures also dwell between 60 and 66 on "idle" for the CPU.

I got it just moments ago. And have just finished the fresh Windows 10 install with all the driver configurations that go with it.

Edit:

After some fan adjustments and a full reinstall of the drivers it now rests at 50-55 with lesser loads.

One question: How the temperatures look like when using only a CPU workload? The way I test this is using cinebench on multicore testing. Because if the CPU alone is not getting anywhere near 90, then a GPU undervolt/underclock can help you there.

My nova with a Ryzen 3 also gets close to 60 when browsing (**** Chrome), lows 50s when idle. Then I undervolt and underclock it (by about 1Ghz less than stock) when not gaming to keep it on 45 when idle and between 48 and 50 when browsing (even using Chrome :ROFLMAO:)
