Got a recoil 17 specs below this was an prebuilt unit. I tried to get an ssd for 2nd slot after delivery. The upgrade link told me I had to have a 330w power rather than 280w supplied. It also did this with anything I wanted to add even a wireless adapter. Called and they overrode it.
I then thought upgrade to 64gb and should last for a good few years was told even though it said upto 64 on the description wouldn't recomend as memory sits on top of each other and the extra heat generated could cause memory to fail. Opened base when adding SSD and memory chips are separate which makes mecthink either support do not know the devices or the laptop has bad cooling and it has been testedcto show it overheats. So far not a great support experience.
Laptop is so far good just hope it stays that way.

I think for 64GB you'd want 2x32GB anyway, as otherwise the ram speed is less stable due to the limited bandwidth of the memory controllers (i.e. 2x can run faster than 4x).

Hi yes that's what I wanted to fit but they advised against it as memory according to them was stacked on top of each other and would cause extra heat. But it isn't each module is separate on motherboard which says to me they don't know the laptop.

"We do not offer a 64GB RAM confirmation for this laptop since the RAM is stacked on top of each other and the RAM stick that is being sandwiched by the other RAM stick and the motherboard will overheating causing it to fail early.

We only offer up to 32GB since the RAM chips are not as dense and it doesn't overheat because of it."
