RAM Upgrade Questions

Hi all,

Looking for a bit of advice.

I have had a faulty sick of RAM, thus have an ideal oppurtunity to upgrade from my original spec.

Motherboard: ASUS® M4A87TD/USB3: DUAL DDR3,SATA 6.0GB/s, USB 3.0
CPU: AMD PHENOM II X6 1090T (3.20GHz/9MB CACHE/AM3/)
Original RAM: 4GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 2GB)

I was looking at going up to 8GB as I run Autodesk Inventor 2013 and AutoCAD 2013 for work and the extra RAM would be welcomed. I have identified the following possibilities:

Corsair CMX8GX3M4A1600C9 XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 Memory - on the ASUS recommended list.

Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R 8GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 Vengeance Memory - not on the list.

My preference would be the vengeance 2 x 4GB as it would leave me 2 slots to upgrade in the future to the max 16GB that the board can take. (and it looks way cooler!) Will I be taking a risk that it might not be compatible as it is not on the ASUS vendor list?

Also as I was runnning 4 GB at 1333MHz, will the CPU and board still only run the new RAM at 1333MHZ.

Any help/advice is much appreciated
