None of us could answer, you'd need to ask PCS, but I suspect the configurator page hasn't been completed for that model, it's not available until 22nd March, so likely still needs finishing. But I would strongly suggest getting advice on the build before ordering, Intel are almost certainly not the way to go this generationGood morning, wanted to ask if it is just an error, or a definitive thing, to only to be able to put the recoil 18's ram only up to 4000MhZ, while the 16's ram goes up to 5600 MhZ?
TIA

Again, none of us work for PCS, you'd need to ask them although they usually won't pre-announce any new chassis.Do you know if its likely we'll see an AMD CPU option in the 18" chassis? I see its an option for 16" already.
Personally I would be looking at the 16 for that very reason if I were looking to buy a new laptop.Do you know if its likely we'll see an AMD CPU option in the 18" chassis? I see its an option for 16" already.
It’s still not released for 3 weeks, hopefully they can get that sorted before thenAlso posted on my other thread from Reddit user...

My Specs: i9-12900KF, RTX 3080 FE, 32GB RAM
The Recoil 18" (Clevo X580) has a CPU limitation where DDR5 downclocks to 4000MHz in 4-channel mode. Even in 2-channel, the CPU still assumes 4 sticks are installed, keeping the lower speed. The Recoil 16" is 2-channel by default, so it doesn't have this issue.
Other brands have avoided this by not advertising RAM speeds, which will be standard for the new 2000 series HX CPUs. We're working closely with CLEVO on a fix to properly detect 2-channel mode and restore speeds up to 5600MHz, but there's no workaround yet. We'll share updates when we have more info!"
Another reason to go with the 16.Also posted on my other thread from Reddit user...
