Question about finance...

Hi there,

I tried to find an answer for this online but couldn't find anything.

I was wondering, is there a limit to the initial deposit that you place when ordering a laptop? E.g. if I'm buying a laptop for £1200, can I put down a deposit of £400? Or is there some limit in place?

The bank states the terms and there’s no flexibility on the deposit (I believe it’s 10%) as this dictates the interest payments.

If you pay the balance off within a year (you can make overpayments at any time) this will mean zero interest.

I feel like the deposit used to be fixed but may not be any more?

it seems to say:
The minimum deposit for finance applications is 1% of the total order price. If you prefer, you can pay a larger deposit which will reduce the loan amount. The minimum loan amount is £350.00.
