PS3 Sound

Hi

Need some audio help. I have recenlty connected my ps3 to a hdcp monitor via dvi-d to hdmi cable. Now with no sound through dvd i have purchaded a http://www.overstock.com/Electronics...?sec_iid=38648 to connect via av cable. can i ask what i do now as i am still getting no sound??

Go into the PS3 Audio Settings. In here you can chose which audio output to use;

HDMI
AV
Digital Optical
etc

I have done that, but still no sound?? I have now been told i need a female to female jack, and then connect the speaker jack to it??

What monitor do you have & what cables/adaptors are plugging in where (in PS3 & Monitor). The link you posted above doesn't take me to the product you've purchased.

I have a benQ g24hdb. I'm using dvi-d to hdmi cable to connect the ps3 to monitor for video. I am using the av cable supplied with the ps3 and connecting it to the rca cable and the other end of the cable to my speakers headphone jack??

Ok, finally, what speakers are you using? When you connect them to the PS3 (via RCA cable/adaptor) I presume you have to disconnect them from the PC?

i use bog standard speakers. I leave it connected to my pc and use the rca male end to slot into the speakers headphone jack

ive connected my PS3 to it using just a simple HDMI cable for video and then got cheap ass speakers to plus into my monitor via the headphone jack. works perfectly fine.

The headphone jack on your speakers is an audio-out port, for example you plug a headset in and you can listen to music. What it will not do is accept an input from a device such as your PS3 or an iPod. To get your speakers to output the audio from your PS3, you will need unplug the cable which goes from your speakers to your PC and plug it into the PS3 - you will need an adapter to do this.
