Hey guys,
I just bought a Proteus VIII/Quanta NLCB laptop and I've installed Ubuntu 20.04LTS (5.4.0-52-generic) on one of the drives but I cannot for the life of me get the microphone to work from my headset. Has anyone else run into this problem/manage to fix it?
I know the both headset and the jack work because they work when I access them from my dually booted Windows OS; but they do not work with Ubuntu.
I have tried:
- Folling the instructions here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure
- Trying most of the changes here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/123...ktop settings/',test on each available device
- - Although I do not see a kernal version I can use from here https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/sound/hd-audio/models.html?highlight=alc255 (when attempting to make this change: /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, and add this line: options snd-hda-intel model=alc233-eapd)
Has anyone run into this problem and/or manage to fix it?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
