Power Issues

Hello forum,

Have a recurring issue with my build. Basically, I can be using the pc for any amount of time, when it will suddenly cut out and refuse to boot afterwards. there is not POST beep, just a click from the PSU, no fans, and nothing on the screen, however the mobo is illuminated.

This happened with the last PSU, it has been replaced once by PCS, however now it is back. I have tried the removal of each component to see if this is the issue, but same problem.

My theory is that it has something to do with the electric here...there is no pattern of cut outs, nothing to link it to a certain process etc.

I have these symptoms with a UK plug/Euro plug, with and without a surge protector. Interstignly nothing else on the same Surge protector is affected when the PC shuts down. (I live in Germany in a military camp)

I have a Corsair 1200 but having scoured the internet, I cant find the answer. Does the PSU have some kind of failsafe that could be causing this? I believe it is shutting power off to the rest of the computer to protect it...?

On a side note, my SSD sometime fails to be recognised afterwards, so I have to re-jig the boot order in the BIOS to get it going again...

any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, sometimes the computer can have power, but without turning anything on, all the lights from the Mobo will go off...

Possible problem with the motherboard?

Is the BIOS reset after the computer goes down?

The BIOS setting do seem to have changed when I get a power cut. I have tried the PC in another outlet, same result, ruling out the electricity theory. The longer the system is off, the more time I get before the system cuts out...

Is this making any sense to anyone?

Guys....?

Possibly an overheating problem, but it does look like it could be a problem with the PSU again,

Yeah, but two PSU on the trot? Sorry for all the questions, but I'd like to be armed with the theories when I call! I'll post my results tomorrow!
