Possible Non-Gaming PC Purchase

I'm considering purchasing a PC with the spec below. I don't do PC gaming as I have a PS4 so graphics are not that important. It would be used mostly for music (editing, DJing etc.) so the sound card is important. I also do some light video editing. I'm just curious as to what people think of the spec. I've gone for plenty of RAM and a top processor because I want to make sure I future proof the PC as I hope not to have to buy another one for quite some time.

If you are spending that much I would probably up the warranty to silver for a fiver but check first as return/delivery things may be different as you are in Ireland. Definitely drop the Seagate and go for a standard SATA 7200rpm drive, they are very good and you have a top class m2 for the OS and main progs.

What music software will you be be using because if you are not gaming on it I would consider dropping the Windows 10 (saving about 100) and going for a Linux Studio distro, they are low latency and much better for music but that also depends on if you have any Windows only music stuff.

Case, mobo and stuff are outside my domain as am a laptop user but sure others will help as well.

Thanks for the response Stephen. Ill consider changing the warranty. Unfortunately none of the software I use (Acid Music Studio, MixMeister etc.) would work on Linux so that isn't an option for me.

One thing in particular I'm wondering is if the case (MASTERCASE MAKER 5t) is any good. Would I need the Thermaltake Riing fans with it? None of the cases are really appealing to me hugely but this one seems good quality.

The stock case fan config is generally fine. The Riing is an expensive LED fan bling-bling kit. The Maker 5t is in my opinion huge and not great value. You could stick to something like a Fractal R5, which is very good quality.

Thanks for all your help. I noticed that Cooler Master have a new case out. Its the MasterCase Pro 6. I know that you don't work for PC Specialist but do you think that they'd be likely to make it available? I'd like to have an up-to-date case as a fair few of the ones on the PC Specialist list are older. It also looks like a really good case and has gotten good reviews such as the one here.

A case 2-3 years old is quite normal. Even new cases like the one you linked tend not to actually have new and up to date features, such as a USB 3.1 Gen2 port on the front, even though a lot of motherboards now support that.

If you really want that case you can buy one and send it to PC Specialist for them to build the system into.

I'd also suggest reading reviews of cases that don't just talk about the build process (totally irrelevant since you're paying someone else to build in it for you) and features, but measurements thermal and acoustic performance. So you know whether it's going to actually do the job it's supposed to well or not.
