Possible GPU upgrade? Will the rest of my system handel it?

So I am looking to upgrade from a gtx 1080 to a 3060ti. My motherboard is a MSI Z97 GD65 with 16gb Corsair vengeance RAM and a i7 4790K CPU. I would like if possible to only upgrade my GPU at this point as im starting to struggle a bit on newer games, mainly Cyberpunk 2077, however I am wondering if the rest of my system is going to hold it back?

Do you know which PSU you have and what the max wattage it can handle? You might benefit from more memory too but be aware you are using DDR3 chips, what's the RAM speed? If your current system isnt an old PCS computer I'm not sure if we are allowed to discuss upgrades here

My apoligies, is there a better place to discuss this?

I have a corsair CV 650 PSU and 4 X 4 RAM cards (so 16gb sorry, not 8 as in my original post), im not sure which speed spec is the one you are after sorry, but on their site its showing SPD speed of 1333MHz or a speed rating of PC3-12800 (1600MHz).

Thanks

If this is a PCS machine then please post the full spec from your orders page, if not we can't discuss as this is a dedicated site run by PCS for their customers, in which case try somewhere like toms hardware

I'm not 100% sure if this forum is allowed to advise on other builds tbh bud

That GPU will pull around 200 wattts at full load, so in theory your PSU should be ok and I believe that the relevant power cable adaptors should be in the box.

Run CPUID and it will show your RAM speed, DDR ram runs at twice the reported speed but we can use it as a baseline
