Hi, iv just discovered pc specialist, after almost falling back into the clutches of "Dell", so im considering myself fairly lucky!
Because my current laptop is getting somewhat tiered (6 year old dell studio) iv decided to upgrade to something that hopefully will last for a few years and also allow me to play the occasional game. id really appreciate if you could have a look at the spec and see what you think.
I'm wondering how much the hd display will affect the graphic card at the moment and if so to what extent.
also i thought for future proofing getting the i7-4800mq or is it a bit of overkill?
and is the thermal paste upgrade worth doing?
and also how sturdy the case is

i already have a windows 8 licence so at least that's a little money saved!
many thanks
Mike

The higher resolution would push the gpu more, it will lead to lower fps in gaming. The i7-4800mq is not needed, what would make a better difference in gaming is the gpu. Thermal paste is worth the upgrade in my opinion. You could also consider the skyfire 14 in the review section for £699.

many thanks keynes. bringing the processor down a notch will make it a bit more affordable! i checked out the 699 version and i just liked making my own setup and paying a bit more. still think ill go with the 1080 screen and then reduce the resolution if i run into problems.
