Hello

I have a PC which I bought from this site in Jan 2008. It's been working great ever since! On Monday (6th Dec) it start having a problem booting up. When pressing the power button on the front 2 orange lights would light up and the fans would start but it went no further, no display on the screen. If I take the power cable out the back and then put it back in it works fine, until I shut it down then the process repeats. Restart works ok, the problem is only with shutting down.

I imagine this is probably a PSU or motherboard problem, but wasn't sure about how to go about troubleshooting/fixing the issue. Any help would be much appreciated!

The PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with a quad core processor, 8GB RAM.

The motherboard is an ASUS® P5N32-E SLI+: Quad-core CPU Ready, NVIDIA® Dual X16 SLI

Power supply: 800W Quiet Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan

I have called the number and was told it's most likely the PSU, which is a relief as I really didn't want to replace a motherboard!. It was nice to get straight through to someone and they actually knew what they were talking about, much better than any other company! You can close this call, thanks!

Ok it wasn't the PSU after all. I use a powerline connector for my internet, it broke last week and that's when the problem started. Got a new one yesterday and now the problem is solved, didn't think a lack of network connection would stop a PC booting but oh well, hopefully I can return the unopened PSU :p
