PC Wifi and Ethernet not working

Since this morning I've been having massive issues with my computer, it is relatively new only a few months.

It has stopped picking up my ethernet, and is picking up my wifi however it's stating there is no connection,

After resetting the wifi etc it worked, however, now it's stopped working again.

Ethernet and wifi are working perfectly with other items

I've edited out your Windows product key, it's not wise to publish those.

What happened yesterday then if the problem only appeared this morning? Were there any Windows updates installed for example?

If something was working and now it's not then something has changed. Identifying what changed is 90% of the battle.

How is it 'not working'? Does it not connect at all or can you just not access the Internet?

What happens if you open a command prompt and issue the command ping 127.0.0.1? Do you get any response?

Find out the IP address of your router, I'll assume it's the common 192.168.1.1, and enter the command ping 192.168.1.1 - do you get a response to that?

Now try the command ping 142.250.184.164 - do you get a response from that?

Now try the command ping www.google.com - do you get a response from that?

What remedial actions we suggest depends on where your network is broken, the above ping cmmands will help isolate it

Hey, thanks for that completely forgot to remove it.

So I have been able to get the wifi to work, however, the ethernet is still not working.

Nothing happened the first time it happened, I turned my computer off properly, and then the next time I turned it on, the issue arose.

When the ethernet is connected, it just keeps showing up No internet, and when I go into google it just fails to connect to the DNS servers.

When i ping 127.0.0.1 i get the following in the command prompt.
Pinging 127.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:

When I ping my IP I get,
Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

When i ping 142.250.184.164
Pinging 142.250.184.164 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 142.250.184.164:

This is what i got when i tried to ping google

ping www.google.com
Ping request could not find host www.google.com. Please check the name and try again.


I would like to add, this was done with my wifi turned off and with my ethnert cable

Sounds like it's manually configured, incorrectly.

Can you open up CMD and type the following:

ipconfig /all

Then hit enter. Post up what's listed under the network that you're having trouble with, or all if you aren't sure.

Your problem is that you're not talking to your wireless router. It may just be a DHCP glitch, so power off the PC, restart the wireless router (power it off an on) and then boot the PC.

Have done so, didn't work

You need to access the network & adapter properties for the Wifi. Right click on it then click "Properties". You should see the various protocols listed, just untick IPv6 and then click apply.

If that doesn't work, try manually configuring the IP and setting the DNS address to 9.9.9.9.

Hey Scott, sorry I've been MIA for the last number of weeks, had a couple of things to sort, just getting around to this now, as still having the same issue

Both IPv6 and IPv4 are off, they have been off always.

How would I manually configure IP.

The wifi is working fine, it's the ethernet that is not

So I tried this, it didn't work.

I troubleshoot the ethernet after resetting the network and the troubleshoot stated -Problems found "ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Try another cable.

Have you disabled WiFi while you're testing Etherley as well, it's worth doing.
