I intend to buy a Hauptwerk package, and will need a PC to run it. I am not sure if this link to the site is allowed, if not please remove it - thanks https://www.hauptwerk.com/learn-more/overview/

Please can some one help me choose parts for a PC to meet the following requirements: -

minimum recommended

Operating system Windows 7 (64-bit) Windows 8 (64-bit)
Processor Intel or AMD (64-bit) Intel Quad-core (64-bit)
RAM(memory) 2GB 16GB+
Graphics 1024 x 768 (16-bit colour) 1280 x 1024 (24-bit colour)
Hard disk space 6 GB for core program 500 GB+ for program & instruments
Hard disk type Any 7200 RPM SATA or SSD

I 'think' the minimum requirements will be OK to start with, but I would like to be able to upgrade later if needed.

Thank you

Hiya, sadly we can't talk about self builds, or did you mean a spec through PCS? And is this all the PC would be used for?

yes, I mean for PC specialist to build the PC based on the minimum requirements shown on the Hauptwerk site (the link is to the Hauptwerk site to explain what this package does)

For each component, I put the minimum required and also the recommended/maximum needed

eg RAM (memory) minimum = 2GB, recommended = 16+GB

This PC would ONLY be used to run this package.

I am hoping the cost will be under £200

Thanks for your help

Sorry for the delay, you will struggle to get the cost under £200. This won't scope much for upgrades in the future and I'm assuming you've already got a monitor. You can always add more RAM later on :)

You won't get anything at all for that budget, you're looking more at £550 to meet the requirements. You wouldn't even get a bad build for that budget, I'd save up for a while longer before buying something.
