PC still wont recognise more than 4 gig of RAM

Hello - I got my pc back from an RMA this afternoon.

Everything seems to be in order except for a few minor problems.

First, I bought 2 x 4gig of Corsair RAM to replace the faulty sticks that were fried during my last motherboard accident - those were 2 x 2gig Corsair sticks. The motherboard I have (which has just been replaced in the RMA) is an ASUS P7P55-M. However after many re-seating and swapping RAM slots, the motherboard still refuses to recognise anything over 4gig - now my previous problem was that my old board was doing the same thing, only recognising 2 gig instead of 4.

I run Windows 7 Home Edition - 64 bit.

The second minor niggle is that my Wireless network card was returned without any antennas? So I am getting a "poor" signal strength due to this, previously I have excellent.

Thanks,

Rory G

Have you checked your Welcome Box for the antennas? If they're not there, we can send you some new ones.

Regarding the memory issue, you may need to change some BIOS settings here. I would suggest you contact our call centre on 0844 499 4000 for further advice.

This was an RMA return, so a welcome box wasn't sent back. I checked the packaging and none were in there.

As far as i know the ram needs to be put in slot 1 and 3 2 and 4 to match up and they also have to be identical for comp to read it. Hope this helps.

I'll give this a go, but can't see it happening. The RAM I bought was identical, bought from Overclockers (wish I didn't go with them, their aftersale service is awful).
