Anyone noticed any issues using live support recently over the last week or so i dont seem to get any responses to my questions. Ive had some of the windows open for like three hours without any response.
Ah so its not being pushed through i was wondering this but didnt want to keep re-submitting the same question ill whack it through again now. Cheers Fella
I cant think what I could be doing wrong it must source right back to my router and maybe further back than that. My internet is playing up at the moment so may phone virgin for a new router
I would have said if your connecting through the same route each time i.e. your router (in this case) id check the router isnt blocking your access to it. Just to check is it a netgear Virgin give you??
Dont know which model it is but there normally a small hole at the back of the router you could try resetting to factory settings and trying again to see if that remove the restriction off the router. I know the netgears have a section for allowing and blocking certain sites or IP addresses.
That is really strange i could go into changing some settings but not to sure how comfortable you would be with it. Ive had issues in the past where certain sites etc require different MTU settings (this is a very rare occurrence thou)
Got this from a website some time ago when i was having problems. You could always give it ago and remember to set it back to its default value if it doesnt show any improvement.
1500. The largest Ethernet packet size; it is also the default value. This is the typical setting for non-PPPoE, non-VPN connections. The default value for NETGEAR routers, adapters and switches.
1492. The size PPPoE prefers.
1472. Maximum size to use for pinging. (Bigger packets are fragmented.)
1468. The size DHCP prefers.
1460. Usable by AOL if you don't have large email attachments, etc.
1430. The size VPN and PPTP prefer.
1400. Maximum size for AOL DSL.
576. Typical value to connect to dial-up ISPs.
The other option as you said is contact Virgin for a new router as it may have some problems.
