PC making vibrating sound?

I’m really not sure what this sound is...sometimes it’s making it and sometimes it’s not, when I press the case in with my finger it makes the sound quieter/stop, what could this be??

One of the videos is the vibrating sound, one of the videos is the normal sound

(Sorry, can’t post actual file of video, idk how to do it on my phone lmao)

Hmmm...well, the 2 videos sound different but to me it just sounds like the fans are running at different speeds in them. Can't say I can hear a vibration as such. It's entirely possible that it's just the fans vibrating the case....sometimes my old case would vibrate when I had a dodgy fan and smacking the side of the case solved it temporarily (no, I am not advocating you doing that!!).

Beyond that, nope, no clue...the first video sounds like a Jumbo Jet idling on the runway and the second sounds like the fans have spun up a little

So tomorrow (when I finish work at 7am), shall I go into my case and tighten the screws a little maybe, for the fans? Tempted to lean it diagonally against the wall to stop the sound lmao

It's worth a try...it may just be a fan isn't fully seated...or it could just be that's how it sounds...I don't know the case at all so no clue what it does or doesn't do. Some cases can vibrate just because of the way they are made and how fan vibration carries through the case.

What I have noticed is that the front panel has no intake/outtake so I have no idea where that heat is going... 🤔 Can't even remove the front panel either!

It may be that the fans are just out of sync and 'beating'. Try modifying the fan speeds to see whether you can make it go away.

Alright i’ve fully tested out all of the fans from the BIOS, putting them to max speed and mixing them up with each other but doesn’t recreate the sound...

Any idea what else this could be?

Are there fans on the GPU? Processor cooler?

I would disconnect the front fans temporarily and see whether the vibration stops.

There's fans for the GPU yeah, but I didn't see anywhere on the BIOS how to speed these up. I have an AIO so it wouldn't have a fan would it? Correct me if I'm wrong!

I'll give it a try when I next hear it happen - it's not very common to happen but when it does it happens for about 15-20 minutes before stopping again

The AIO has a pump but I doubt it's that. My money is on those front fans, I would try disconnecting them for a time.

I don't think that case is all that great for airflow so you will probably find that the fans need to work quite hard to get it flowing.

It's likely a frequency vibration when the fans hit a certain rate but without being able to hear the contrast in the sound it will be different to diagnose. If you can find a way of re-creating the vibration the easy way to find the issue would be to disconnect the front fans (either in total, or one at a time) to see when you can get rid of the noise. That will point out the issue.

Yeah the case is quite bad for it...the fans at the front are actually getting no air as there's no gaps around the front panel at all - probably just for the aesthetics. Only way for air to come or go is out the top or the back 🤷‍♂️

I'll try to get it to recreate the sound, probably is a frequency vibration as couldn't manage to get the sound to replicate when I change the fan speeds to their presets in the BIOS

Alright it’s happening again; can’t take apart my PC as I’m working from home for the next 10 hours now. Pressing the side panel stops the sound but the front panel does nothing, would this still be the fan??

That would do my nut in. See if taking the side panel off stops it too. It may just be a cable behind it vibrating, as suggested.

Alright will have to give that a shot on my 11pm break haha, will be back then!

Alright so it’s not the side panel...the one I could take off anyway. No idea how to take off the other side’s panel as there’s no screws to undo for this side. Can’t take front plastic shield off as this is part of the tower frame, what else could it be 🤔 honestly my only guess would be the GPU fan now but no idea how to control this

You need to remove the side panel that's got all the cables behind. It's usually either held in just by poppers, or by 2 thumb screws at the rear.

Ah yeah it's the two thumb screws at the rear, I'll do that at my next break at 2am lmao...we'll get this resolved one day!!

Lols.... little by little 🤪

Hopefully once you've got the side open it will be something really obvious.

It was that side you were pressing that stopped the vibrating, so hopefully.

It stops vibrating if I press either side of it, even underneath the case for some reason hahaha
I have noticed that when I press the side of the window it continues now (instead of stopping it) so maybe this one is in place properly. The panel I can't reach still stops the sound, and so does pressing from underneath, so maybe it's just loose panels. Video of picking it up underneath here
