Hey!

Looking to move off a gaming laptop I bought 10 years ago onto a PC and I'm not too sure what I'm doing, so any help would be appreciated!

Usually use the PC mostly for gaming (FFXIV being the main, and various things off steam), and watching movies and the like

Hi, what's your max budget? Intel must be avoided at all cost.

Intel 13th and 14th Gen confirmed defective

So there's been a lot of upset gathering steam on the inter webs with intermittent games crashes on Intel 13th and 14th gen. Workarounds range from underclocking to disabling ecores. BUT, there are a lot of people finding that simply disabling hyperthreading is a proper solution. The findings...

I'd go for something like that as a very high-end QHD/1440p gaming PC, but if you’re not in an absolute rush, the next gen 9000X3D should be released in September along with new X870/X870E motherboards and new GPUs shortly after.

I would personally hold off until the next gen are released. It's your decision. :)
