What is your budget and what will the main uses be. 12GB is an odd amount of RAM, even for gaming 8 is enough although 16 handy for a bit of future proofing but unless you are doing a lot of video, music or photo work you probably do not need much more than 8, although I would go for the faster 2400 MHz RAM. The m2 you have chosen is quite basic and no quicker than a standard SSD, if you can afford it a Samsung SM, PM or EVO m2 2ill be much better.

950ish - I have read the TI is worth it - anything else I am missing. is the I7 vs I5 really noticeable?

The 1050 ti is definitely worth it, as it's ~30-35% more powerful and you're stuck with the GPU you buy at the outset (no upgrades). The more powerful the GPU, hopefully the longer until you want to buy a new laptop. Plus the nicer gaming experience you have at the outset through being able to push higher settings.

The difference between the i7 7700HQ and the i5 7300HQ in most games will not be noticeable. If the price difference is about £69 when the laptop is specced with a 1050 ti, I'd say it's probably not worth it.

As above, the i7 has a slightly higher speed and more threads but unless you are running stuff that would benefit from that it is a waste.

I do not think nearly 100 quid for the 4k is worth it, I have an Optimus and the normal screen is great, I do not game but watch movies and they look fine, plus any photo work I do on it is OK
