Optimus VI vs Cosmos III for gaming

We have a gaming PC, but need to buy a laptop (just to be used when we are away from home, on holidays etc).

The main game played is Team Fortress 2 (Steam) so I don't think I need a high end gaming laptop

The Optimus is £830 and the Cosmos £490, so there must be a big difference.

Please can someone explain ? or help me chose a suitable laptop ?

Basic requirements are 17" screen, back lit keys, and needs to play Team fortress 2 !

Many thanks

The main difference of the two is the GPU (graphics card) used in them/ The Optimus laptops have GTX 960M's in them and the Cosmos have GTX 940M or 950M's in them depending on what you choose.
The Optimus VI has a quad core I7 CPU while the Cosmos III has a dual core Pentium CPU by default. The optimus also has 4GB RAM by default, which is 2x the amount that the cosmos has.
You definitely won't need a high-end laptop to play TF2 at this point. Both of them should be capable of handling the game well although increasing the amount of RAM you have in the Cosmos would help in general, 2GB isn't enough to do that much on a windows machine although if you're only running TF2 and nothing else, you should be alright. I'd personally go for 4 or 8GB though.

Thanks for the reply. Apparently the laptop needs to have back lit keys ! (although 15.6" screen will be fine)

I can't see an option to upgrade to back lit keys, so does that mean buying a gaming laptop to get them ?

Hey, I kinda have the same issue. I'm weighing up the optimus VII and the cosmos III, I really want a back lit key board but love the look of the Cosmos and it's also perfect for what I need. What did you decide in the end?
