Optimus VI touchpad and backlight issue

Hi, I just received my new optimus today, very pleased with it but I have some minor issues. Firstly when I'm using the touchpad, it tends to act as the left click mouse button because if I accidentally tap it, it will click on something and don't want that to happen. Any way I can turn it off? Lastly, is there a way to turn off the backlight to save battery life? Thanks

You can turn off touch to tap under control panel>mouse properties>select the mouse pad open the settimgs menu and find the relevant options menu to disable tapping.

Not sure if the backlight can be tuned off, but I suspect it can if you root around
