Below is the spec for the Optimus IV (new chassis). It is just under my budget of £1100 and will be mainly used for running virtual machines/servers as I will be undertaking Microsoft Server/AD exams this year for part of my job. I will also be playing the occasional game (bf3, Skyrim, Max Payne 3, etc). Checking various sites for this graphics card these games can be run either medium or high settings with over 50+fps in medium and 30+ fps in high, in my opinion, fairly decent for a rig not designed with gaming at the forefront of my mind.
The rig has been altered many times over before I settled on the below and would appreciate it if some of you could give your opinion. The SSD is a must and cannot be swapped out as this will be running the OS, the VM's including Windows Server 2008 and possibly Exchange 2010. My only questions at the moment is, is it worth upgrading the wirless/LAN? It will only ever be connected via ethernet cable so wireless signal is not an issue for me particularly. Also, is the extra £116 for the i7-3610QM actually worth it?
