I've gone for 12GB RAM only because it seemed sensible to fill up all three slots.

I would like to thank all those forum members who offered me such good and friendly advice, your help has been invaluable. Thank you. :)

To any prospective customers who, like me, are lurking on these fora to get a feel for how good PCS are as a company, please remember as you read the negative posts that you will find on here that the majority of satisfied customers rarely come back here once their new PC has arrived, so it's only those few with problems who you tend to see on here. I intend not to be one of those who don't come back and not only will I come back with a review of my Optimus IV but I'll keep coming back here afterwards to see if I can help others in the same way that I've been helped. That seems only fair.

My review will take a while though, I spend most of my time on board my sailing yacht in Greece (that's not as flash as it sounds ) so my Optimus is being delivered to my son's home and I won't actually get my hands on it until mid-April - all those complaining about waiting a couple of weeks take note :(

Here's hoping I'm one of the fortunate ones and I never get to find out what RMA actually means ;)

Nice, now just a waiting game.

One sudgestion would be to increase the following:

Warranty
3 Year Standard Warranty (1 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour)

To the silver as it gives you 1 year Collect & Return for an additional £5, my last RMA was about £35 because, hopefully you wont need it but better to be safe.

What is the laptop going to be used for? Gaming?

Thanks for the tips. The Silver warranty is of little use to me since I spend most of my time in Greece and so I'll have to sort out getting it back in any case (should I need to).

It's mostly for intensive general use, I don't game at all. I'm just looking to get the best bangs for my bucks!
