I just clean installed Windows 7 after upgrading my hard disk to a Segate Momentus XT from the old WD black drive.
The audio worked without having to install any drivers so then I tried installing the THX which didn't work, it complained that there was no supported audio device so then after that I installed the audio driver that came on the driver disk, same error. After reading a thread on this forum which said the audio drivers needed to be installed first I used system restore to go back to before I installed the THX and installed audio driver first and then THX, the driver is working fine and shows Realtek HD audio now but the THX gives the same error message.
Last year when I bought the machine and also clean installed Windows 7 I got the THX to work but I can't remember how.
any ideas?
