Optimus 17.3" GTX 860m

I'm just wondering, I have the Optimus 17.3" with the 860m

I'm happy with the laptop so far it's just over a year old now and have been playing GTA V on it while I can't run the settings at max I can run it at about mid/high so doing ok.

I was wondering has anyone ever tried an external graphics card with their laptop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP_8EYQ-2RA

I inc the youtube link, I have seen one that uses a pci Express card but I don't have that slot on my laptop. But in the link above they using the slot that your wireless card is attached to. I don't even know if this motherboard would work with it but would be interested to know if anyone has given it a go?

I'd be interested to know this myself as I have an Optimus IV. I have noticed there are two mini PCI-E slots in this, one of them occupying the wifi card. Unfortunately under the keyboard, so it'd be a bit of a cludge.

It works, just as you would expect it to.

Professional bit - I would not advise you do this as you will VOID your warranty if you cause any damage.

But yeah, I have seen it done never seen it done with the WiFi port though
