onboard sound advice

Anyone out there with the asus maximus vii hero board just wondered what the onboard sound was like, debating if i should add a sound card to my order or not, using onboard with my present comp and it struggles have to put sound on full 99% of time, cheers for any feedback.

The onboard sound should be fine. if you have to put the sound levels on maximum then I think you have another issue.8incompatability somewhere in the system.

if it happens with both headphones and speakers then it may be one of the volume sliders within windows itself is low and just by turning it up you will unleash the full volume from your speakers.

The quality of the onboard sound these days is pretty much top notch, onboard sound will not cause you to have low volume problems.

The audio on my Maximus VI is fine. You don't need anything else unless you need different connections or need to feed the finest monitors for audio production or hifi nuttage.
