I have just received this new beast but can't enjoy it as between one to two minutes of it starting up it blue screens. The error is "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal". Although some times comes up with "kmode_exception_not_handled (fwpkclnt.sys)".
After two hours of trying to do updates I am almost at the stage of launching this laptop.

Please some one help.

Have you updated any drivers recently? This looks like a bad driver problem, though it could simply be a badly seated RAM card.

So...I'd suggest you first check that all the RAM cards are seated properly, pop them out and be sure they click back in firmly. If that doesn't fix it then boot up into Safe Mode, run System Restore and restore to an earlier time, preferably one before the latest driver or hardware change. If you can't boot into Safe Mode then boot the Windows install DVD and select the Repair option, you can do a System Restore from there.

Thank you ubuysa for your reply but I managed to fix it after 3 hours of pulling my hair out. A handy program called "who crashed" pointed me in the direction of a problem with the wifi driver. So, after 4 tries of uninstalling it (with blue screens disrupting it) I got the new one installed and so far (touch wood) it is working.

Glad you got it sorted! :)
