Hi,
I've got an old 9800gtx that has stopped working. Any ways to get it working again? It's dead anyway so no worries about causing more damage :)
Thanks.

You could bake it. This means putting it in the oven for a while so that all the solder points melt.
There are tutorials all over the place on how to do it.

That probably has about a 5% chance of working, though it cant make it more broke than it already is.
Yeah. Worth a try :)
Fixed one of my old cards to my surprise.

I guess without knowing what's made it stop working it'll be difficult to suggest how to fix it.

Have you been able to do any diagnostics at all?

Well I just followed a bake tutorial. Now I am actually getting a display [rollinglaugh]
The display has lines down one side but I can actually get into windows and see everything now hahaha. Better than it being dead.
What would you suggest for diagnostics?
Also, when I took the cooler off, the square thing (I assume this is the gpu) had a sort of powder down one side and a big crack in the silver lines from it. I am going to guess that this was the problem. I dropped the card a while back and that was when it stopped working. Anyway when I took it out of the oven the crack was gone?

EDIT:Still cuts out every couple of minutes unfortunately but at least it shows a picture and actually turns on now :)

Well yeah, finding out what actually isn't working was kinda what I was saying... the fact there's lines down one side I'd guess means its goosed. You could try updating the drivers and stuff but I'm not sure how far you'll get.

The PS3's Yellow Light of Death (YLOD) could be resolved by putting the PS3 in the oven to much amusement!
