Hi, i'm back after a 3yr hiatus; ) My laptop is still going strong and now I'm ready to renew my desktop

What is your budget, for 20 or so quid more you could get the Samsung 961 m2 SSD which is very much faster than the Kingston, also the WD HDD is better than the standard one. You are already spending quite a bit so for a fiver I would consider upgrading to the Silver Warranty.

I'd agree that one of the fast M.2 SSDs would make much more sense. Also you've selected the 6700k CPU which can be overclocked but chosen the Z170-P motherboard which doesn't support overclocking. If it's for video editing rather than serious gaming you might be better going for the non-k CPU?

and to add to the above the motherboard doesn't have on-board USB 3.1, which is something I'd want if I was spending £1500 or more.

Is it just video editing, or will there be other things such as gaming as well? And what software do you use for video editing btw?
