Odd networking response

This is an odd one.

Connected only by LAN, with the other interfaces disabled.

IPv6 disabled in the network settings.

NSLOOKUP returns IPv6 addresses....

Frankly I am at a loss on that one.

The firewall/gateway is also set to respond preferentially with IPv4.

The fact that you have IPv6 disabled on your PC doesn't affect the DNS server responding to your NSLOOKUP, so it returns all the address mappings it has, including IPv6 ones.

Yes, but you're simply asking a DNS server to map a name to IP addresses and it simply returns all the address mappings it has listed, it doesn't care what version of IP you're using.
