Octane VI laptop - First overheated but got fixed later thanks to amazing support & technician "J" of PC-specicalist! Thank you!

I ordered Octane VI a while ago.

I had a lot of contacts with the staff of PC-specialist. Some of the people working there were super amazing! Gave me a lot of help, some others a little bit less but in general, I'm very happy.

There are some few people in the PC-specialist crew (of both supporter group and technician) I would really like to give a big applause to for the incredible jobs they have done!

The technician which did amazing job has his first name starts with "J". Incredible talented person and friendly as well! Imagine if all the people working in this company could be like him, I truly appreciate him! He should be the good example of an excellent technician!


On the support telephone side, there were actually a few good candidates, I unfortunately don't remember all of their names but I surely remember their voices and their friendliness of course. Could even joke with some few of them, makes the situation less stressful :) One of the person I remember the name of was Mr. Mu. Big respect!

Then again, there are some few others which really gave me good support as well, I just don't have all their names here but they did also amazing job, cannot forget about that.

Anyways, here are the backbone specs of my laptop:

First time I got it home, I got serious overheating problem with CPU hitting almost 100 C under load. Some of the support guys didn't even take this issue seriously and I had to stress that the goal for this kind of CPU should be as low as possible so it does not thermal throttle. The goal should be at least less than 90 C under load.

Had to open up the case to see what was wrong. Turned out of the white thing isolating around the CPU was not even properly put back together. The first technician (not sure who) messed it up big time.

Got also problem with the SSD. Had to send back but then I got great help from the company. They replaced the SSD so now the PC is working fine again. They also applied thermal paste in a correct way this time with X-method and together with Grizzly Thermal.

With a few modifications, now the CPU temp stays around 70 C under load (!) and that is like 30 Celcius difference compared to the first try. That's why it's so important with quality check and that people has to take heating problems a bit more serious.


Gotta say one more time thanks to technician "J" for the fantastic job there with fixing this machine for me! Thank you kind sir!
And also shout out to all the friendly guys at the telephone support who helped me out heartily. You all know who you are!


And then we have a few guys who were a bit less helpful but it's hard to expect all the workers in a big company to have the same quality, I just wish if PC specialist could do some more filtering with those guys or at least make sure they stay on the same level like the rest but other than that, I think this has been great so far. I would actually come back again to buy more from you guys in the future - if you still have those heroes working for your company like Mr. J and Mr. Mu :) Not all heroes wear capes!
