Octane II 17.3" laptop sound card issues and questions

Morning,

I recently purchased an Octane II laptop and I am having issues when using my headset with it. Just to clarify, I've tried different headsets and they also work perfectly on my other laptop and desktop and their jacks were properly connected.

The issues are:

- the microphone input being very low, even with max out volume from the properties menu;

- I can hear a loud static brushing sound when changing volume from the volume knob attached to the headset.

I installed the latest audio drivers from the pcspecialist site, and I've also tried installing also the X-Fi mb5 drivers, even if I haven't bought the related external sound card, but without difference.
Am I missing something, or it may be an hardware issue with the audio jacks?
And more importantly, is there a live chat to contact the pcspecialist support? Because I've not found it yet.

I also tried to download the more recent drivers from the clevo website, but the audio ones have a corrupted file when I try to unzip them.

Thanks for your time, and I hope my english was clear enough.

Just found out how to directly message the support team, I'll update this post again for developments.

Make sure you install the Hotkey driver (AKA Control Canter). This has hooks into a lot of Clevo laptop features and might solve your problems.

Yeah, I read how changing the setting of the headset from the control center helped some people with audio issues, but nothing to do. Tried every setting (music, game, theater and direct) but the issues were still there, unless I am missing some other settings.
I even tried with the more updated drivers for it, from the clevo site, but no difference. I hope it's not an hardware issue with the sound card or the audio jacks..

Have you tried experimenting with the Windows sound enhancements? Speaker Icon > Playback Devices > Click on your device and click Properties > Enhancements tab. See whether playing with those helps. The only one I always use is Loudness.

I've tried pretty much every combination of sound enhancements and settings, so I feel pretty confident to say that it has to be a hardware or driver problem...but no one seem to be having a similar issue, so I am starting to think that I'll have to return the computer back...which is not a pleasant thought, considering that I'll have to ship it outside of the UK, meaning that I'll have to pay for it..
