NVIDIA ROPs Situation

PCSpecialist are aware of the recent discussions regarding NVIDIA ROPs displaying incorrect unit counts, and we want to share the steps PCSpecialist is taking to minimize any impact on our customers.

Confirmed Issues

  • ROPs: Some of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards feature GPUs with 'missing' raster operating units (ROPs) and therefore lower performance.
  • NVIDIA: Nvidia has confirmed that 0.5% of GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5090, and RTX 5090D graphics cards carry graphics processors with several ROPs disabled, vs the expected specification.

For those that wish to check their NVIDIA RTX 50 Series themselves, here are the correct advertised ROPs:
  • RTX 5090 = 176 ROPs
  • RTX 5080 = 112 ROPs
  • RTX 5070 Ti = 96 ROPs
Data obtained from Blackwell whitepaper

Looking Forward

  • Testing & QC processes have been updated to manually check each system (GPU-Z) prior to dispatch to ensure the correct ROPs are present.
  • For customers who has received a PC which has an RTX 50 Series GPU displaying the incorrect/missing ROPs, we advise them to contact Customer Support at to arrange for an RMA or RC.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to monitor the situation. As always, we are committed to ensuring you have the best experience with your PCSpecialist system.
