NVIDIA Display Settings Are Not Available

You are currently not using a display attached to a NVIDIA Card.

I am having problems with Windows 10 restarting and I suspected a driver issue when I looked at the NVIDIA control panel I get this message.

This is a new PC bought at xmas and I have already had to replace the wireless network card :C.

I watched a Youtube video which suggest monitor plugged into motherboard and not graphics card , has anyone else had this

Many Thanks

Elaine

So is the monitor plugged into the motherboard or the GPU? You need it in the GPU.

@elainef can you post your specs so we know what we are looking at?

You can easily check whether you're connected to the right graphics connectors on the PC by having a look, if you're unsure just take a photo and post it here.

If you unplug the VGA cable does the error message go away? I guess there's a second monitor attached via that VGA cable and your primary monitor is attached to the GPU?

Can you post your full specs from the PCS order page?

When I unplug vga screen goes black :)
You must have a second screen? What is connected via HDMI to the GPU?

You're not using the GPU via the VGA on your motherboard, which is why the nvidia control panel doesn't work...
