Nvidia Card Always Running

I've noticed that my Nvida card seems to be running even when my laptop is idle, despite the Nvidia GPU Activity stating that it's using 0 programs. I'm only bothered by it because it's obviously causing additional temperatures in my laptop.

Is there any way to turn it off when it's not supposed to be in use?

See if that's on any interest (reverting to older drivers, checking for apps that are using the GPU due to hardware acceleration, etc)

Nvidia Optimus is rolled into laptops to auto switch between dedicated and on board. What version os, and have you got hot key installed?

I'm using Windows 10, and as far as I'm aware I don't have a hotkey installed. The Activity panel is lit up and my laptop has the indicator to show it's operating, but there aren't any programs using the graphics card.

I had a problem with a newer version of drivers causing a huge decline in FPS on games where I would usually get a stable 60, so I reverted back to 359 drivers.

Without hotkey installed, optimus won't be working properly.

Do you know how to check I have one or how to install it? I've never had the issue before.
