Now I know what games I want to play, what rig do I need? All suggestions appreciated

I posted a query in here about a year ago about a suitable set up, but I wasn't very clear about the games I'd be playing etc.

Now I can say, basically I will be playing mainly Driving games - Automobilista etc, and the more Graphically challenging Assetto Corsa, and whatever other decent games are on the horizon.

I'd like to play them maxed out ultra setting in full HD 1080p.
And I'd like frame rates of 60fps if Possible.

Any ideas of how much power I'd need for that?

Sorry, yes.
The cheaper the better.
But also I want to be realistic.
I suppose around the £1000 mark.

I don't need an OS, and only need a cheap hard drive in there.

I think only the Vortex Elite chassis can take SLI'd cards - its got a 17" screen is unlikely to be light

I think just a single 980M or maybe a 970M would do for now.

The reason I asked about SLI compatibility is for future proofing.

Do you have any suggestions of the best model regarding future upgrades?
