No power to PC

Hi all,

After shutting down the PC with no problems last night, throwing the power switch on the PSU did not turn on the usual red lights I expect to see on the card reader. Sure enough, pressing the power button did nothing.

Monitor is plugged into the same surgemaster and is receiving power fine, although admittedly I havent checked the plug/fuse on the IEC going to the PC yet. What other culprits may there be if this doesn't work?

If the computer is completely dead, it could be the PSU. Check the power lead, fuse, switc is turned on, and try turning the PC on. If no success, give us a call.

Hi PCS,

Turns out the fuse had gone; changing that fixed the problem! Never had a PC fuse go on me before though.. so still a little concerned, I'll keep an eye on it.

Glad to know you're up and running again. Fuses do go, ensure it's a 5A and not 13A fuse you use. If the problem re-occurs let us know.
