No display, help.

My PC Specialist desktop has been running solid for the last 6 years. I came to it today, switched it on but no display. Now this is the strange part, i tried holding down the power button to turn it off but it won't switch off. So i resorted to the switch on the back. Turned it back on, but no display again. I have tried a different monitor, different HDMI cable and a VGA cable with no success.

Anyone able to help me with this?

Thanks

Does your PC have a dedicated graphics card? If so, you might try removing the card and plugging the monitor into the motherboard's video outputs and seeing if you get any signal there.

i tried holding down the power button to turn it off but it won't switch off
Was this a one-off or is this the only way you can shut the PC down now?

I just tried removing the graphics card and running it off the motherboard, still nothing.

Yes i always shut it down properly but the only way to shut it down now is via the switch on the back.
