This is indeed what it is, nothing to worry about, simply shows when the drive is in use.

It's a very useful light too, especially on HDDs. If your system suddenly slows down for any reason then look at that light, if it's on but not flashing then the slowdown is being cased by excessive (or slow) disk accesses. A garbage clean and defrag (on an HDD) will often sort that issue.

A lot of modern cases have done away with it, it's nice to see it remaining on some cases.
