Need it to last me 4-5years with minimal updates.
Plan on SLI later on when the card is cheaper and up the RAM in a few years.

Ram is veeeeery cheap atm (cheapest ever). That won't splutter, super stong computer (just make sure to update your nVIDIA drivers :p )

i personally think this card will disappear off the shelves before the price drops as there are very few being made, PCS say that there is only a handful sent to the UK every week and the price will still be high due to it being rare and still probably a very good card in a couple of years

That is true - you probably still have more chance of getting a 5970 on time than a 590...

O.T: Woz have you took the plunge yet :p ?

no not yet, my dad should be checking his bank account to check he has the right money and should order this week, will probably get my money out on saturday, or maybe wednesday seeing as i have the day off on wednesday :)

cant wait though
im not sure if the spec in my sig is correct, i keep changing it, although i have finally decided now, just not updated it

Excellent system, but i would honestly recommend downgrading the GPU to a 580 GTX, although this is purely down to what sort of gaming performance you deem necessary. I currently run this card, and the only game in which i experience a framerate lower than 60 is BF3 completely maxed 1200p.

Nvidia Kepler GPUs are (rumoured to be) only a few months away; if you really feel the need for obscene performance, i would personally pick up a 580 and wait for the kepler flagship to emerge.

lol, sounds like you are lucky to be in a job still though?

got some projects planned for next year with a friend, hoping to make ourselves into programmers :p as far as i know experience with this is much better than qualifications, although i'll still probably go to uni anyway

better get working on your course thing then, is it programming?

me and my friend are hopefully going to try and make a indie game pack, where the user gives what they want

http://www.indiegala.com/ which was setup YESTERDAY has already made nearly $40,000 of course some of this goes to a charity and as a tip for the site owners, but i imagine $20,000 at least of that is to the various developer groups, and there are 5 different games, so possibly 5 different developers, so in one night, they have made $4k, will definitely be keeping an eye on these stats

I do desktop support and Server administration and technical support.
I can never get my head around coding... Did some C++ at uni but the only thing i do that is anywhere close to programming is PHP for websites.
